What is VAT?

Value Added Tax (VAT) is an indirect tax which was introduced in the Sultanate of Oman with effect from 16th April 2021 with the standard rate currently 5%

Is VAT applicable to insurance?

Our non-life insurance products will be subject to VAT at the standard rate of 5% or zero- rate, Life Insurance will be exempt from VAT.

How will VAT be calculated?

Where VAT is applicable, VAT will be charged in addition to your final insurance premium and the total amount (inclusive of VAT) will need to be paid by the policy holder to Liva.

Is Liva VAT Registered?

Yes, Liva is VAT registered with effect from 01/10/2023 and our VAT registration number is OM1200362117.
